FAMILY WEAPONS SAFETY
 
Family weapons safety runs ACCORDING TO DEMAND.  We offer this as a community service to help you make guns within the home safer and increase the proper  appreciation and handling of firearms.  It will start at nine in the morning on the range and will go until early afternoon.  We will have a variety of weapons on site to demo and for participants to shoot.  If you have children or youth in the home this is a great education even if you do not have guns because somewhere the kids will encounter them.  An allotment of ammo will be furnished for each student and more will be available for purchase. (more details in lower left box). 
 
 
Family Tactical Pistol
 
For those of you wishing to take our tactical pistol offering but needing a bit more coaching or for it to move slower, this is the course.  Primarily designed to offer families a chance to get on the range with their youth, it is also great for the less experienced or less confident shooter.  For anyone under 18 to be enrolled a parent or legal guardian must also be enrolled.  While the training rubric is the same as with Tactical Pistol One, the pace is slower and the performance standards relaxed. 
ALL SAFETY AND RANGE REGULATIONS ARE STILL IN FORCE.

If you have successfully completed a ManAloneTactical course and are in good standing with us, you are invited out to the range the afternoon of our alumni gathering.  We do this every year.  Bring your family (but no additional guests) for an afternoon out on the range.  Bring something edible to toss on the table and share.  We'll have a fire going and something cooking.  We will open the range for a brief period of pistol shooting.  This is not a training period, it is a time for us to get to know some of the other folks that have gone through a program during the year and reflect on the successes of the year.            
 
Family Weapon Safety
 
     Very frequently we are asked about guns in the home, children and guns.  If you are a parent you know the questions already, even if the answers evade you.  We have our Family Weapon Safety Course to help you with these problems.  We spend about two thirds of the day on the range, so bring lunch.  A wide range of weapons will be available for us to explain SAFE HANDLING, the rudimentary operation of the weapon, and then we will do some shooting.  This is for families with children and your children will be coached and allowed to shoot from an array of weaponry.  From pistols to shot guns and rifles.  We'll have some of those highly touted AK-47's as well as U.S. military weapons.  We're going to take the mystery out of these weapons and hopefully dissolve some of the allure that leads to those tragic child shooting incidents.  Another thing that we do that we think helps is we show the destructive power of the gun.  A couple of melons and a couple of toys blasted seem to have more inpact on what a bullet does that showing them a hole in a paper target.  In the end it is our hope that we bring your child to an appreciation of the firearm that will lead them to a lifetime of fun and safe shooting.  I hear from some of you guys that your wives need this as well.  Let us know, we will try to work with you.   
     When it comes right down to it, guns are mechanical marvels made to very precise tolerances.  Many of them are beautiful.  It is no wonder that children are drawn to them.  I think they are one of the few remaining bastions of quality craftsmanship remaining today.  Join us, and let us help your family.
     We have some rather strict rules governing this event so contact us early so that we can thoroughly review how this class works and you can make accommodations for children that you might have that are not participating and we can come to a thorough understanding of how this course runs.  WE ARE DEDICATED TO SAFE, RESPONSIBLE WEAPON OWNERSHIP.

Unarmed Self Defense
 
     We like to do at least two unarmed self defense class annually.  Starting with the most important component of self defense, situational awareness, we teach you simple techniques and procedures to make you more aware of what is around you.  We teach you cues that are indicators that you are headed for a violent attack, and then we work on simple, proven physical techniques to use when all else has failed.  Some of these assist in controlling the situation and some are lethal force.  Remember these two points if you do not remember any other thing from this website.  No amount of fighting skill is as important as your resources for avoiding trouble.  Secondly, all of these skills are perishable.  Whether it is a tactical shooting skill or hand to hand, you absolutely must refresh these from time to time.  Train hard so that you bleed less.  A toe tag makes for lousy jewelry.
