FAQ's
A: Put yourself in our hands and leave the worrying to us. If you are not comfortable training with us then we are not doing our job. We have three objectives, train safely, move up the training curve satisfactorily, and have a rewarding experience. For us, failure is not an option; we will meet all three objectives.
A: Email us, and let's talk about it. We will assess your abilities and guide you based on your goals and experience.
A. We have testamonials posted all over our TacticalWeaponsTraining.com website. Take a look and if that does not satisfy you we will put you in contact with folks directly.
A: You should ask them all until you have addressed every concern no matter where you are considering training.
A: You bet. We are located in the scenic low country of South Carolina. Let us know what you want and we can help you get situated in Hilton Head or Beaufort for more of a tourist type trip, or in more basic accommodations in the surrounding area. You might want to tack on a couple of extra days to your trip. This is a golfing mecca and people that like to shop think they have died and gone to heaven. We also have bountiful fresh seafood, beaches and marsh activites.
A: With sufficient enrollment and within the parameters of what we teach this is a service that we offer. We get corporate as well as social groups that want a private run of the S.C. Concealed Weapons Permit Class as well as LE and military groups needing upper level training. We are happy to accommodate.
Q. Will you travel to our range to instruct?
A: As long as your range meets our safety and control requirements we are happy saving you money by bringing our instruction to you. When we do this we bring the whole circus, targets, steel, stands and props. You get far more for your money this way particularly if we can book this during the week as opposed to 'prime time' weekends.
Q: I shoot competition. Can you make me better?
A: While we are confident that we can make you a faster, more accurate shooter, we have no idea that we can make you a better competitor. I have never even seen a competition shooting event (except a turkey shoot). We teach self defense and gunfighting, plain and simple. It is not politically correct and it is not pretty. We are here to enable you to see that the other guy gets the toe tag and you get to go home to your family and winning trophies I would think is a thoroughly different mindset. You win the violent encounter by control and domination and we teach you how to do that. If that will help you in your competition you are welcome to sign up but you would probably be better served elsewhere if competition is your primary goal.
Q: Do you have unarmed courses?
A: Oh yeah, and we generally throw a bit of this in during the armed courses too. If your only skill is guns, then you have no choice but to escalate the fight to an armed encounter when a simple choke hold might have kept you from killing someone. We can help. Our facility is limited to outdoor instruction so if you have a better facility, we are happy to bring the train
ing to you.
Q: Do you have rental or loaner weapons?
A: We do. We heartily advise you to train with the weapons you will be using in the fight but that is not always possible. We have a selection of factory fresh carbines (and hopefully soon the MAT Carbines) and a selection of quality pistols. We also have loaner tactical gear, again all factory fresh from a premium, first tier manufacturer. All rentals/loaners are for our course work only. We do not let out weapons for other uses.
Q: Do you have course and ammo packages? We do not want to travel with the ammo.
A: We stock a large quantity of the more popular calibers. With sufficient advance notice and prepayment we can have your ammo right here waiting. You can even ship your ammo to us or have your supplier ship it to us.
Q: I notice that you do not offer any women's only courses.
A: Our first courses were women's only. They are certainly easier to teach. Women listen well and such a class is an instructor's dream. What we found using quantitative data that we gathered was that women only classes simply do not rise to the same level of training that the same coed class will. It is that simple, although in the mixed classes when there are women one of them will have the top score. I cannot explain it, but I do accept it. If you have a group of women we are happy to teach your women's only class as long as you understand that training alongside men will make you better prepared for an armed encounter. After all, an act of violence perpetrated against you will most likely be by a man. Getting used to them in this process gives you an added advantage.
